Peace With Holiness

Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness- without it no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

In days gone by I would avoid conflict so as to avoid a nasty reaction from others.
On the weekend I had finally had enough of a person on my Facebook page posting hate statements about our Prime Minister, it upset me. Now I knew I could be turning the hate towards me but I made a stand. I wrote a private message to the person involved saying how it upset me to have such hateful things constantly coming up on my page. In the spirit I knew when my message was being read and I prayed fervently for this person. Some hours later I received a hateful message back with the message: 'if you don't like what I have to say delete me.' I deleted them not wanting to enter into a battle that this person wanted. Having tondo this grieved me and I prayed most of the day. I am awRe that I was the only contact with godliness this person may have in their life and I was about to exit stage left. I will now step back, just as The Lord does, and allow Him free reign. I have kept my attitude right and I pray for salvation for this person.

I want peace, with holiness. This means I have to keep my spirit sweet. I have to keep my mouth shut and my heart open. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
