The New Begins

In those Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptised in the Jordan by John. As soon as He came up out of the water, He saw the heavens being torn open and the Sprit descending to Him like a dove, and a voice came from heaven;
"You are My beloved Son;
I take delight in You!"
Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness. He was in the wilderness being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels began to serve him. Mark 1:9-13

Jesus was baptised because He identified with mankind. He did not need forgiveness as He had no sin.

When baptised He received affirmation by His Father who was well pleased by Him. The Spirit descended upon Him like a dove then drove Him out into the wilderness to redeem the past. The Israelites had sinned against God in the wilderness and Jesus honoured God through obedience in the wilderness.

Jesus by His actions had arrested the consequences of sin and was paving the way for redemption. The old was ending the new about to begin. The door was about to opened to the  Father in a relationship of His liking just as He had with Adam He would have with those who walked through the door. How exciting! Amen!
