The Test of Faith

By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Issac. He received the promises and was offering his unique son, the one it had been said about, 'Your seed will be traced through Issac'. He considered God to be able even to raise someone from the dead, and as an illustration, he received him back. Hebrews 11:17-19

God always wants to know if He is first and Abraham delighted in his son Issac.
Abraham proved his faith, his love and his God.

I have, many times, laid down the prize and said, "God, You take it, it doesn't matter.' He then picks it up and gives it back, if it does not have me.

If something is too precious to lay down, I have a problem. Jesus said, "He who lays down His life for My sake will retain it but he who refuses to lay down his life will lose it." Sort of like grasping at straws isn't it? Those who are His do not have a choice, there can be no other Gods before Him, they must die.

Why is He so jealous? Because He is, because other gods pollute and disable and He is the giver of life. He sees eternity where we walk with Him forever. He wants us to have te best. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
