Care of Innocent

Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin it would be better for Him that a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea. Mark 9:42,43

Being a grandmother I relate. I have 7 little grandchildren and see how innocent they are, trusting and believing. I have a granddaughter who loves the bible and being in church, yet does not get there as much as she would like. When I was little I was fortunate I was in a small town and could walk to church. I attended a Catholic Church that had a service every morning. There were times when I would get up early, in the freezing cold, and go to church.

I am grateful my mother supported my desire and worked with me. I am grateful I was safe and I am grateful that the priests and nuns were godly and did not take advantage of my young heart.

We live in a time where past abuses are being revealed and the abuse was rampant. Little ones, innocent and trusting were taken advantage of. Now most will not set their foot inside a church. Those who took advantage of these souls have destroyed faith and Jesus has a very low opinion of such ones.

This same principle applies to those who are brought up in a top heavy church environment and get to an age of rebellion against the heavy handed treatment. Whilst, as a child grows up, a time of accountability comes for each, a stumbling block has been placed in their way.

We are accountable for what we do to children. We are given them to nurture not abuse.

I am grateful for the change that has come on the earth. The time for disclosure and punishment has come. We see famous people, such as Rolf Harris, now in jail for his crimes which he hid for so long. I pray for those he abused that they will find salvation and peace. Amen.
