Grasping God's Reality
They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. They were astonished, but those who followed Him were afraid. Taking the Twelve aside again, He began to tell them the things that would happen to Him.
"Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests an the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death. Then they will hand Him over to the Gentiles, and they will mock Him, spit on Him, flog Him and kill Him, and He will rise after three days. Mark 10:32-34
There are times when the future is so removed. The current world was so full of movement, miracles, adoration for Jesus. There was nothing He could not do, yet here He was saying that the chief priests would be able to capture Him and not only that, hand Him over to the Gentiles who would treat Him shamefully. This was a reality they could not, and perhaps would not entertain.
Have you ever been in a realationship where your spouse endeavoured to warn you that there was a problem, but because all seemed well, you did not listen. That is how easy we can be devastated and not see it coming, even though we were warned.
Jesus not only told them that He was going to die horribly but He tried to open their minds to what it was going to be like, beyond the grave. They still dd not get it.
What change is God trying to bring into your world? Are you resisting because you fail to comprehend?
Today at church three things happened: 1) the message was spot on for where I am at
2) I inherited the management of the information booth and all the volunteers
3) a young man walked up and asked me about becoming a financial planner. Do you know how rare that is? Very! Especially when it is a good prospect with all the right attributes. Growth is in the air.
The best part about today was my Lord surprising me. I love His surprises. They are the best, life filled experiences ever.
I am loving leaving the plan to God because He adds no sorrow. He is good!
