Jesus is God

King Herod heard of this (the fact that Jesus and His disciples were preaching, setting people free and healing the sick), because Jesus' name had become well known. Some said, "John the Baptist had been raised from the dead, and that's why supernatural powers are at work in him." But others said, "He's Elijah," still others said, "He's a prophet- like one of the prophets." Mark 6:14,15

The opinions of others were all wrong and came out of the individual's frame of thinking, fears and fancies.

Herod had put John the Baptist to death because he was tricked by his wife Herodias who hated John because John preached against the union as Herodias was Herod's brother's wife. Herod was therefore fearful of a supernatural reappearance of John.

Jesus was more than any of the names given Him by man, He was who He claimed to be, the Son of God. Amen!

Today, I must accept this fact, Jesus was not just a prophet, a resurrected John, not Elijah returned, He was and is the Son of God and therefore has authority to command life into my deadness, forgiveness for my sin, healing for my sickness. Amen! He is God!

Over the years various cults have been devised by sinful men and women who would not accept Jesus just as He was. Their determination to change facts came out of their desire to worship a god of their making, one that agreed with their sin. We can't do this folks, and live for all eternity with Him. We may fool ourselves and others, here on earth for a few years, but eternity is forever. Choose wisely! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
