Little Seeds Grow Big Trees
And He said, "how can we illustrate the Kingdom of God, or what per able can we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed that, when sown in the soul, is smaller than all seeds of the ground. And when sown, it comes up and grows taller than all the vegetables, and produces large branches, so the birds if the sky can nest in its shade." Mark 4:30-32
Today my grandson Myer took me to his favourite tree, a mangrove tree down by the beach. You can tell this tree has brought pleasure to many a child, some thoughtful parent, or grandparent, has built a wooden seat in the lower branches of the tree.
Myer climbed all over this tree. Quietly I wanted to join him, for as a child, climbing trees was a favourite pastime. I did take my shoes off and dig my toes into the sand as I sat and watched long illy. What memories came flooding back.
All trees start somewhere and I am so grateful for them. They delight children with countless hours of imaginative fun, not to say the birds miss out on the shelter as well as nourishment from some.
If the Kingdom of God starts with a small seed of truth spoken by a willing servant then many trees are in the process of growing.
Last Sunday I took my granddaughter to church, she had not been in a while and today I had the pleasure of taking her, her brother and mother to Koorong bookstore to buy bibles. A request for church again this Sunday was made.
