Lord of All??

On that day, when evening had come,
He told them, "Let's cross over to the other side of the sea." So thy left the crowd and took Him along, since He was already in the boat, and other boats were with Him. A fierce windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already swamped. But He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and and said to Him, "Teacher! Don't you care that we are going to die?"
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Silence! Be still!" The wind ceased, and there was great calm. Then He said to them, "Why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith?"
And they were terrified and asked one another, "Who is this? Even the wind and sea obey Him!" Mark 4:35-41

I have read this scripture many times and written about it several times yet today the thing that jumps out at me is this: they called Jesus 'teacher.' They had not yet come to acknowledge Him as Messiah or Lord.

Jesus had been teaching the disciples and the crowds principles of the Kingdom of God and they knew Him to be a good teacher but not yet Lord.

Before I asked Christ into my heart I attended church and knew Him mentally. I knew He had something good but I did not know Him personally and I definitely did not knownHim as Lord.

There are some who know Jesus as saviour but still have not made Him Lord. He becomes Lord as we continually submit our lives, all of them, to His dictates and control, yeilding our fears and desires to control.

Today is a good day to start to yield, give it a try. Amen!
