Power

And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching. And they were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one who has authority, and not as the scribes. And immediately there was in the synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are-the Holy One of God." But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" and the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him. and they were all amazed, so they questioned among themselves, "What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him." And at once his fame spread everywhere throughout the surrounding region of Galilee. Mark 1:21-28

So natural for Jesus to go where He always been on the Sabbath but now He presented the authority of the Spirit of God within Him. The demons recognised Him and were worried that their time on earth was up. Unclean spirits could no longer safely hide in church. When the power of God is manifest the unclean spirits are confronted and the power of God commands them to leave.

Jesus had spent time with the Lord in the wilderness being made ready and here He was doing what He was predestined to do, set captives free.

We are His love slaves and have been empowered to live in His Spirit, we have authority to set captives free. Why are so many still bound? Have we been convinced that we are powerless? Have we accepted a watered down gospel? Have we not spent time being filled with the Spirit?

Luke 4:9-11 In this third test Satan quoted scripture but Jesus knew His scripture and was not going to be deceived by his enemy twisting the truth. I am amazed at what Satan tempted Jesus with. Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
