Respecting Children

Some people were bringing little children to Him so He might touch them, but His disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw it, He was indignant and said to them, "let the little children come to Me. Don't stop them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you, whoever does not welcome the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." After taking them in His arms, He laid His hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16

Children are important. They are our example whilst needing our care and protection.

Most people don't respect children, thinking they are 'just kids' and foolish. Yet when children are given respect they respond beautifully, they love it.

My grandchildren tell me they love the fact that I play with them. Little do they realize how much I love to play. I love life and enjoy all good fun. Yet I turn every opportunity into an an venue of teaching attitude and life principles.

I learned, through nursing, that when you validate a person, no matter how old or young, they respect you and allow you to speak into their lives.

The fact that Jesus loved little children, made room for them and blessed them, would have caused the children to grow up with memories of when a great teacher respected them and blessed them.
