The Mustard Seed
And He said, " With what can we compare the Kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it?" It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown in the ground, is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it is sown grows up to be the larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can nest in its shade. Mark 4:30-32
Today I drove for 10hours and did an appointment that lasted 2 1/2 hours
To say I am a little tired is an understatement but I have had the best time. I am revisiting the above text because I have had fresh revelation.
Yesterday The Lord had me apologise to my grandson Moses for criticising his choice of bibles. I had taken him to a Christian bookshop to choose a bible, along with his sister. Their mother saw bibles that would suit rheir ages but my grandson went for one that had a Leggo-like cover. To me, this was the only redeeming feature. The writing inside was very small, there were no pictures that children usually enjoyed but he had chosen it. My apology needed explaining but when I explained he accepted it.
I took he and his sister to church after the apology and saw that probably this bible was a better choice than I thought, as there was no children's church and they had to endure a long sermon. The Leggo proved to be a good diversion.
Today as I drove home God had me do two acts of Kingdom service. I fed a hungry man and repaid a $3.00 debt I had promised to repay. I enjoyed the experiences. The Lord then began to show me that I had been sowing seeds, Kingdom seeds. He told me that as his servant I was doing his work and displaying his character to a world that needed it but best of all I was not just doing acts, I was sowing trees of godliness. Awesome!
As Christians we, as salt and light, can make deposits of godly seeds into a starving world. The best part is that these seeds are seeds that bear fruit, and grow trees in which birds of the air can build nests. I wonder who the birds are? Can't wait to find out.
