What Do I Show?
But Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed his last. Then the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom.
When the centurion who was standing opposite him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said, "This man really was God's Son!" Mark 15:37-39.
The centurion saw many deaths and knew that most we terrified, horrible in their cursings and lacking peace. Jesus did not curse anyone, He willingly gave up His life, even for the heathen centurion.
The final act was God ripping the temple curtain and once and for all breaking the barrier between God and man. Now a way was made to be re-united with the Father.
Unbelievers watch believers, looking for the light to light up their day. What will they see? Today started well but then seemed to deteriorate. I had the internet going on at home, having moved into a new home and endeavoured to wait for NBN (fast internet connection) in my area. While I waited I used my mobile on Hotspot. For today I had to buy a new modem and it did not work and I could not find my internet user name and password for my IT provider. I called my internet provider and they told me they could not talk to me without my user name and password. Next the modem told me I already had an existing password for it but did not tell me what it was. It told me to reboot but there was no reboot button. I called for hep they told me to log onto the internet for help.
It was getting worse. I stopped and prayed. Lord, this is not working, show me what to do. The name of my IT local support came to mind and I called him. He is usually hard to catch and he answered first time. He offered to come out and fix it and as it was lunch time I offered lunch. We got talking about my office internet problems and he offered to call by there on the way back to his office and see what he could do. He fixed that as well.
When the first problem was unravelling all around me I could not see a way out and was tempted to become angry and frustrated but I had determined to do things differently. I could have spent all day running from the shop I bought the router, signed up for internet and back but the IT guy did it all. I am glad I prayed. Amen!
One of the operators who was trying to help me, in fact both were Indian and I could not understand their accent. I apologised and told them my alternative plan. I thanked them for trying. They must have so many frustrated customers, their days must be hard to cope with and I pray more grace and mercy on them. I ask for grace and mercy myself and my God liberally douses me with it. Praise God, otherwise I would go up in smoke.
