So the woman gave birth to a son and named him Samson. The boy grew and the Lord blessed him. Then the Spirit of the Lord began to direct him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol. Judges 13;24,25
God had ordained Samson, He did not specify what his name should be but how he was to be raised. His name means sun.
If we read the following chapter 14 we could be forgiven for saying: 'he was a spoilt brat.' However 14:4 states that his desire was from the Lord, when he chose to marry a Philistine, an enemy of Israel.
What way was the Lord working in Samson with phenomenal strength, his behaviour was a little weird, all right, a lot weird, but if God was working through him who am I to complain?
Can I dictate how God will operate and how He should use people of unusual character? Why should I type-cast them and then reject them because they do not fit into my parameters?
I am endeavouring to keep my heart open to the Lord and see what He is doing. I am wanting His plan and purpose, not mine. Amen!
