Bright Shining Lights

At that time Michael the great prince who stands watch over your people will rise up. There will be a time of distress such as never has occurred since nations came into being until that time.

But at that time all your people who are found written in the book will escape.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to eternal life, and some to shame and eternal contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the bright expanse of the heavens,

and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and forever. Daniel 12:1-3

 

Chapter 11 deals with the events to unfold from 539 BC-167BC and the rise and fall of rulers. verses 36-12:3 are also interpreted to refer to the end times, yet to come. However, what I like is verse 3 above: 'those who are wise will shine like the bright expanse of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and forever.

 

Last night I began an other blog called: An Australian Poet. I was inspired by the elderly Iranian poet Simin Behbahari who, against religious teaching, spoke out against the inequity in her country Iran, which she loved passionately, until her death.

 

I love my country and see it for all it's faults and am not blind to our sins. I wish to poke fun at our foolishness, attitudes and ways of life, because if we can laugh at ourselves we might open up to learn a better way. The language of this blog is true to my culture but not to me.

 

I look for any way possible to lead people to truth and will use all avenues possible. I know I risk ridicule, from both sides of the coin but this is a risk I will take. I already challenge my fellow believers, now I will talk to my nation.
