Deborah Woman of God

The Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of The Lord after Ehud had died. So the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Caanan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his forces was Sisera who lived in Harosheth of the Nations. Then the Israelites cried out to The Lord, because Jabin had 900 iron chariots, and he harshly oppressed them 20 years.
Deborah, a woman who was a prophetess and the wife of Lappidoth , was judging Israel at that time. It was her custom to sit under the palm tree of Deborah  between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her for judgement.
She summoned Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, "Hasn't The Lord, God of Israel, commanded you: "Go, deploy the troops on Mount Tabor, and take with you 10,000 men from the Naphtalites and Zebulunites? Then I will lure Sisera commander of Jabin's forces, his chariots, and his army at the Wadi Kiahon to fight against you, and I will hand him over to you."
Barak said to her, "if you will go with me, I will go. But if you will not go with me, I will not go."
"I will go with you, " she said, "but you will have no honour on the road you are about to take, because The Lord will sell Sisera into a woman's hand." Judges 4:1-9

Girl power! There are times that God chooses to use a woman, because she is willing to be used by God. I enjoy seeing this happen because it is unusual but I rejoice to see how a woman transforms in the hand of The Lord. Deborah was bold because of God's hand on her.

In this day and hour we are seeing a lot of women be used by God and perhaps it is becoming more acceptable to both men and women.

There are still too few business women in Australia and I aim to change that.

Tonight I was priveledged to go to a Tina Arena concert here in Tamworth. I had never been to one of her concerts before. She has a powerful voice. What I enjoyed about her was she was a Aussie woman who was loved by her kinfolk.

I did not known Tina wrote her own songs. They were good and spoke of her life and love for the land.

She had a team of people who travelled with her and they worked like a well oiled machine. The musicians were very good and made it all look very easy.

This was one powerful woman and she did Australia proud.

Deborah was a powerful woman who did her God proud. I pray that He finds the same spirit in me. Amen!
