God's Way

The Lord threw Sisera, all his charioteers, and all his army into confusion with the sword before Barak. Sisera left his chariot and fled on foot. Barak pursued the chariots and the army as far as Harosheth of the Nations, and the whole army of Sisera fell by the sword; not a single man was left. Judges 4:15,16

When God is on your side, who will defeat you?

I watch a show called The Eggheads. The Eggheads are a very good quiz team in the UK. The compere often says to The Eggheads, especially after a victory, "who will defeat you?"

Now I have seen teams come and defeat The Eggheads, but now if I take a look at what scripture says about me in Romans 8:31 if God be for us, then who can be against us? God was for Deborah and Barak and in fact an obedient Israel. As they followed God's lead they were not defeated.

I can place too much expectation on physical things and be disappointed but when my hope is in the name of The Lord the victory that comes is His and always one that stands the test of time. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
