Then Gideon said to Him, "If I have found favour in Your sight, give me a sign that you are speaking with me. Please do not leave this place until I return to You. Let me bring my gift and set it before You."
And He said, "I will stay until you return."
So Gideon went and prepared a young goat and unleavened bread from half a bushel of flour. He placed the meat in a basket and broth in a pot. He brought them out and offered them to Him under the oak.
The Angel of God said to him, "Take the meat with the unleavened bread, put it on this stone, and pour broth on it." And he did so.
The Angel of The Lord extended the tip of the staff that was in His hand and touched the meat and unleavened bread. Then the Angel of The Lord vanished from his sight. Judges 6:16-21
Verse 16 carried all the power of promise Gideon needed. However, he did not catch it and asked for a sign.
The Angel of The Lord waited patiently while Gideon slaughtered the goat, cooked it and brought it to Him.
Gideon had said he would prepare a gift. His gift was hospitality. However, the Lord's gift was a demonstration of His power so that Gideon's mind would go from victimhood to victory.
With God Gideon was in a winning position but he could not yet see it. He was bound within the confines of
His circumstances.
What circumstances are challenging you? What is God saying about them?
God's word has more power in it than any battle, army or bully you are facing. He is greater. Amen!
