Now the Midianite, Amalekites, and all the Qedemites had settled down in the valley like a swarm of locusts, and their camels were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.
When Gideon arrived there was a man telling his friend about a dream. He said, " Listen, I had a dream: a loaf of barley came tumbling into the Midianite camp, struck a tent, and it fell. The loaf turned the tent upside down so that it collapsed."
His friend answered: " this is nothing less than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has handed the entire Midianite camp over to him."
When Gideon heard the dream and it's interpretation, he bowed in worship.
Judges 7:9-15
The Lord worked with the timid Gideon and encouraged him. He did not want Gideon as a mere tool but a son who understood His God was for him.
The Lord has a hope and future for each of us and He gently, yet firmly leads.
Raising my own children I did not let them back off learning and growing. I gently pushed them along, encouraging them with, "You can do it!"
Why would our God be any different?
In my own life He spoke to me about going back into the world of finance, by myself. I continually tried to work for a man and it continually failed until I stepped out believing He knew I could do what He called me to do.
He knows what He created us to be, He knows our unique makeup and if He says we are able, in Him, we are able. Amen!
