Bless and Not Curse

A gift opens doors for a man and brings him before the great. Proverbs 18:16

I know that this text is supposed to be referring to use of bribery but I would like to consider another thought.

Having a generous heart to those above you, not in a false or corrupt way, but in a humble grateful way, makes room for you. Conversely those who fail to see how important this principle is miss something very important. Being honourable and grateful carries a scent which is pleasing. A gift from a truly humble person blesses the receiver as it is pure and undefiled.

Great people do not like others fawning over them or spitting at them. I notice on Facebook, our prime minister receives a lot of hate mail. It is disgusting.

We have an opportunity to bless and lift up. Let's use what we have and do it well. This will in turn bless us. Amen!
