It is so important what you allow your eyes to feast on. It is so important what you give your heart to. Do you constantly think about possessions or progression?
Jesus said, "seek first the kingdom of God." Seeking the kingdom of God is different for all of us. What is God doing in and through me? What is He doing in my world? For me seeking the kingdom starts with me seeking God first. He puts vision in my heart and I then work towards its fulfillment by doing what is before me. I have study, compliance, management, training of staff, appointments with clients, family relationships, gardening, neighbours, church, community engagements to name a few. This is what God has given me to do and in the midst He is there, if I expect Him.
If I allow my mind to be consumed with discontent and thoughts of wanting to be elsewhere then I am not open to what God might be doing in my now.
Being content in the now, diligent in the now, trusting in the now all combine to forge ahead to a future and a hope. Wasting time in the now with too much 'leisure' can cause me to miss an opportunity for tomorrow. Time is another seed, I must use it wisely. I must sow it constantly for that future and hope. If I fail to understanding how precious time is, I waste it and throw too much away. This is valuable seed. Amen!
