He is a shield to those who live with integrity so that He may guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His loyal followers. Then you will understand righteousness, justice, and integrity-every good path.
For wisdom will enter your mind, and knowledge will delight your heart.
Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you,
rescuing you from the way of evil- from the one who says perverse things,
from those who abandon the right paths to walk in the ways of darkness,
from those who enjoy doing evil and celebrate perversion,
whose paths are crooked, and whose ways are devious. Proverbs 2:7-15
Last night I listened to a message by Kris Vallotton from Bethel Church in Redding, USA. Kris was talking about the scripture in Matthew 7:23 in which Jesus tells a group of people, 'begone from me for I never knew you.' The point being that God knows everything and is everywhere but is not invited to know a person who acts independently of Him.
In the above scripture we are told that God guards the path of justice and protects the way of His loyal followers. Yes God loves all men but He responds to those who choose to make Him their all, He knows them intimately.
As I lean into Him and make Him my source, my life He responds and is faithful. Amen!
He protects me from the perverse man who plots evil, He fills me with discernment and love of understanding. Knowledge delights my heart, and this knowledge is knowing Him and His ways.
