Isolation

One who isolates himself pursues selfish desires;
He rebels against all sound judgement.
A fool does not delight in understanding,
But only wants to show off his opinion. Proverbs 18:1,2

What sort of isolation is this referring to? I was invited to a party at my hairdressers last night but declined to go, does that mean I isolated myself?

For the purpose of this scripture I don't think it is talking about parties. I think it is referring to belonging to God's house.

I can't imagine there was much wisdom at a godless party, whilst relationship building is good, drink driving is not.

I isolate myself from God and man through offense. When I try to control either, for an outcome I expect them I fail miserably and can become offended.

I listened to two good podcast messages last night. One from an Aussie preacher, the other an American. The American was extremely funny and he talked about how, through prayer, we attempt to put God in a box but the only one in the box is us, isolated.

We are isolated when we think with a god factor and try to control, it does not work.

I cannot control my own flesh at times so how can I control God or my fellow man?

A fool tries to control and does this through loud opinions or even prayer, neither work.

Let God be God! Amen! He has so much to show us and even in crisis if I allow Him to be God, I win. Amen!
