This proverbs constantly rebukes me because I can jump in too quick, especially when excited. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will work self-control in my mouth. The times I stop and listen and do less talking I benefit most. It is not nice to know we are being foolish my talking, but there's the rub.
I pray I am a source of blessing to staff and those at Rotary today as I am the welcomer. The times I have my sight turned on is the times I am a blessing and if I speak what the Lord sees then I am a double blessing.
Jesus told us to have ears to hear, He didn't tell us to have mouths to speak. In fact James tells us that the mouth is a forest set on fire. May the Holy Spirit be the bit in my mouth. May my mouth utter wisdom and blessing. Amen!
