Spirtual Discernment

Now my sons, listen to me, and pay attention to the words of my mouth. Don't let your heart turn aside to her (the loose woman) ways; don't stray onto her paths. For she has brought many down to death; her victims are countless, her house is the road to Sheol, descending to the chambers of death. Proverbs 7:24-27

 

The earlier passages in this chapter talk of an adulteress whose husband is away and she is out on the street luring young men into her bed. The young man foolishly strays into her path.

 

There are many traps for the gullible and foolish, the adulteress is but one. However, sex is a huge motivator, especially for young men (or should I say, all men).

 

If we could but see into the spirit realm, spirits, evil spirits, control certain addictions and it is they who are setting the traps, the woman is just the meat. I have sensed, in the spirit, an evil spirit at work, in this exact area.

 

I remember once a woman came into a church we were pioneering and I sensed she had an evil spirit. I actually addressed the spirit in her. That was fun. However, a gullible single man was caught, or almost caught by her. She asked him for help and when he went to her home she endeavoured to capture him and failed but then accused him anyway.

 

We need to turn our spirits on, they will tells us when danger is near. If we are not foolish enough to be captured by flattery we can press into God for discernment and He will give it.

 

If we know the Lord as saviour and lord we can ask and He will supply and protect. The spirit of God is real, active and alive. Believe it!
