Are you Enslaved?

They promised them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them. 2 Peter 2:19

We can put ourselves up as teachers but be enslaved to sins we consider small, but sins nonetheless that are destroying us and others, if we pretend that we have it all together and preach a doctrine that lifts us up and puts others down.

At times I see in myself an effort to glorify my behaviour with: I did such and such, how good am I? If I then promote such behaviour and in so doing put others down, I reek of self-righteousness and then not only am I in bondage but am promoting that bondage to others.

This is deception at its best. But this is what I do. Do you? When I see this I must repent and in so doing humble myself before God because only He is good. Amen!
