False Gods

What use is a carved idol after its craftsman carved it? It is only a cast image, a teacher of lies. For the one who crafts its shape trusts in it and makes idols that cannot speak.
Woe to him who says to wood: Wake Up! Or to mute stone: Come alive! Can it teach?
Look! It may be plated with gold and silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.
But the Lord is in His holy temple; let everyone on earth be silent in His presence. Habakkuk 2:18-20

Today, more than ever before, Western households are buying Buddha images and placing them in their homes. They have been seduced into thinking it is of no harm, it is a lovely statue.

We cannot play with fire and not be burned. Crafted images are made by believers and bought by foolish unbelievers. An image carries a seduction, before long the owner starts to be attracted to the sayings of  Buddha, starts to believe they have something special that sets them apart. Yet destruction lies in wait.

Our God  came down to this earth and walked amongst us, die for our sins and made a way back to the father. His Spirit indwells all who believe. He is real, not a dead piece of stone or wood. He is wisdom, peace, provision, security, love and relationship. Our God is not removed, but a very present help in times of trouble. Amen!
