How Then Do I Live?

And if you address as Father the One who judges impartially based on each one's works, you are to conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your temporary residence. For you know you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from the fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.
He was chosen before the foundation of the world but was revealed at the end of the times for you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 1 Peter 1:17-21

We will be judged with what we did with the Son of God and the righteousness He gives; Did we walk in it or run in our own strength? Did we call His sacrifice of no account by our self-righteousness?

Conducting ourselves in fear refers to having a healthy respect for truth and knowing the importance of living in that truth.

I was redeemed from my empty way of life handed down to me by my father, grandfather and great grandfather. The only source of life is Christ. If I accept the family I am redeemed into then I will walk washed in that grace daily.

My faith and hope are in God, not myself, not the man next door, not my employer, not my earthly father. God alone is my source and supply. Amen!
