Obedience to Truth

By obedience to the truth (through the Spirit), having purified yourselves for sincere love of the brothers, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again- not of perishable seed but of imperishable- through the living and enduring word of God. 1 Peter 1:22,23

Here we have it - obedience to the truth, not to how I am feeling about you or what is happening in my world, but according to the truth. There is only one source of truth, the Word of God. If I deal with myself and my neighbour according to the word of God, I do well. Because the word brings life through the Spirit, whereas in myself no good thing dwells.

I can only walk this way, by the Spirit. He gives me the way, the path, the light to walk on that path. Amen! If I first go to God to have my heart cleansed, then my attitude to you comes from a pure heart. In the Lord's Prayer 

Jesus taught us to ask for forgiveness so that we could forgive. Forgiveness comes from a forgiven heart. A forgiven heart know the grace that has been poured on it to cleanse it. Grace is good! Amen'

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
