On Being Holy

As obedient children do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. But the One who called you is holy, you also also are to be holy in all you conduct; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy. 1 Peter 1:14, 15

This speaks to ALL the hidden, not so obvious things we allow ourselves to do: the over -indulgences, the slacknesses, the self-sin, the 'little foxes that spoil the vine' things.

If we are to be holy, set apart, as He is then we see there is no room for the 'little ' things.

We all have these things and fail to address them because they are 'little'. When we read scripture we see the result of retaining the 'little' things. The children and the children's children still have these but now they are large stumbling blocks.

Let us deal with them now so that we do not plant seed that will grow up as weeds and choke our children and grandchildren.

Remember: in ALL your conduct, be Holy. Allow God in and let Him be your strength. Amen!
