Power not Wisdom

When I came to you, brothers, announcing the testimony of God to you, I did not come with brilliance of speech or wisdom. For I didn't think it was a good idea to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I came to you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. My speech and my proclamation were not with persuasive words of wisdom but with a powerful demonstration by the Spirit, so that your faith might not be based on men's wisdom but on God's power. 1 Cor 2:1-5

I love a good intelligent conversation but to want everything, including the gospel packaged that way would be missing out on the diversity of life.

My experience of Christ was relational from the beginning. As a child I grew up with a head knowledge of Christ but longed for more, Him. In Christianity wanting to package Christ in lovely sermons or discertations is foolish because He is relationship and power. Knowing Him is knowing the source of power.

His power comes into my world again and again, I see miracles of all sorts as I stop and allow Him to be who He is, GOD!

I know many intelligent people but if they only wanted me to dish up intelligence to them, instead of relationship, then I would be sad. No matter how intelligent we are we need to switch on relationship, especially with God, because He does not disappoint in this. Sure your expectations of Him might be disappointed but that is because they come from the wrong base. Try Him and His rules, they bring life. Amen!
