And no deceit was found in His mouth;
When He was reviled,
He did not revile in return;
When He was suffering,
He did not threaten but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly. 1 Peter 2:22,23
Oh Lord be my strength! When reviled by strangers, that is acceptable, but when you think you belong and are ostricised then it is hard. It is as if your skin is being peeled off you and you are left in agony of soul and bleeding, it is like white hot irons. Yet, was this not what my saviour experienced for me? Verse 21 previously tells us that this is our lot because Christ suffered for me, I should also suffer and be a godly example.
We can endure suffering because He is our strength, and only because He is our strength.
Sometimes we suffer because we refuse to move, we are made to move. Get up! Shake off the dust and strengthen those weary limbs that hand down, put a word of worship in your mouth and watch the new begin.
I watched Walter Mitty ( I think that is how it is spelt) his shoulder were slumped, his feet were dragging, his eyes were vacant, until he moved and went and did something.
