Without Love there is No Point

If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love,
I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophesy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
And if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor,
And if I give my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 Cor 13:1-3

Genuine love  cares for others and this motivates our seeking the Holy Spirit for His gifts. If I go to church to promote myself I am an empty vessel. My mum used to tell me, as a child, that empty vessels make the most noise. Lives empty of love and full or self-promotion and noise about ourselves is a waste of time.

Again and agin we are drawn back to Christ, who though He was God, did not seek equality with God but humbled Himself as a servant.

My Lord's example is there in the gospels for me to follow. Jesus did nothing of self, He lay it all down for us. His life was a living example of service.

Jesus knew who ahe was and did not need to gasp for identity. I am a child of God, I do not need to grasp for position or identity. He is my identity. Amen! He will open doors for me.
