No Compassion Becomes Compassion

She conceived again and gave birth to a daughter, and the Lord said to Him:
"Name her 'No Compassion', for I will no longer have compassion on the house of Israel. I will certainly take them away. But I will have compassion on the house of Judah, and I will deliver them by the Lord their God. I will not deliver them by bow, sword, or war, or by horses and cavalry. Hosea 1:6,7

I am grateful that I did not live in such a time and be the prophet naming his children such awful names. I am grateful for Christ who redeemed us from the curse of the law, so grateful.

Without Christ all hope is gone, yet with Him all grace is mine.

The burden is lifted all I now need to do is walk in faith trusting the blood of Christ to cleanse me from all sin.

In this day of social media I watch how the politicians in my country are lambasted. They are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.

Yes they do foolish things at times, but then so do we. Yet because they put their heads up above the line they are the targets. I pray for mercy and grace and wisdom for them. they are judged harshly by a code of conduct that expects them to be saints and miracle workers. The hatred I see is cruel and harsh.

Imagine if mankind in all this merciless judgement were God, how cruel we would be. Now imagine God behaving like that. In the Old Testament we had a perfect God trying to get along with this imperfect mankind. We think He was harsh at times yet we fail to see His mercy. His greatest act of mercy was in sending His Son to finish all the brokenness.

I am sure the Lord is grateful for His Son's sacrifice as well. I am grateful that He persevered rather than ran from the cross. He was tempted in the garden as the reality of what He faced was upon Him. He prayed that if possible the cup be passed by. It was not possible and here am I, saved and redeemed. Amen and Amen!
