Resolving Conflict

For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want,'and I may not be found by you to be what you want, there may be quarrelling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder. I fear tht when I come my God will again humiliate me in your presence, and I will grieve for many who sinned before and have not repented of te moral impurity, sexual immorality, and promiscuity they practised. 2 Cor 12:20,21

We tend to think of Paul as a hero of faith, and he was, but here he was battling with a church he had established for a right relationship. He talks of anticipated fleshly behaviour. Which part did he think he might play in this? Was he concerned that he too might stoop to such behaviour? I imagine he was concerned that he might as the letter indicates he is upset.

Relational problems are devastating and when we fall out of grace with each other the nasty, fleshly behaviours arise.

As Paul is trying to resolve the base issues, this is the best place to start: why did we connect in the first place? Where is that love? Let's deal with offense and trust again. Oh to start again! Amen!
