The Teacher

After these events, during the reign of King Artaxerxes of Persia, Ezra came up from Babylon. He was a scribe skilled in the law of Moses, which Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given. The king had granted him everything he requested because the hand of Yahweh Hus Gid was on him. Ezra 7:1-6
And you, Ezra, according to God's wisdom you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to judge all the people in the region west of the Euphrates who know the laws of your God and to teach anyone who does not know them. Ezra 7:25

This section of the book is Ezra's memoirs. Although the first part of the book had progressed to King Darius, we now go back to King Artaxerxes. We now see how the prophets were able, in the reign of Darius, to inspire the people to again build. God had sent them a man to teach them the word so that the word would bear fruit when the spirit came. Amen!

Darius' opinion of Ezra was a powerful endorsement and freedom to rule, with wisdom.

A teacher of the word is good value, they open up the scriptures to the listeners and faith is able to find soil to grow. It is not enought to have inspiring preaching but good sound teaching is the soil required for faith.

It is also good to have a teacher who has the hand of God upon them, God's favour works wonders.

The Lord provides each of the apostolic gifts in the body, they are there to be used for His saints. Amen!
