Treasure

Don't collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But collect for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don't break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there you heart will be also. Matthew 6:19,29

Again Jesus brings home he importance of seeking first God and his kingdom. His kingdom's treasures on earth are people, in heaven is the stuff waiting plus more of Him than you could ever dream.

Why spend our lives in the pursuit of what He does for us if we get things right. If we put people first and draw as many as possible to Him and His kingdom, He will provide for our eternity. Jesus, Himself, said, "I go to prepare a place for you." He did not need to say this if it were not true.

So, I do not need to worry about this life, about my needs, because He provides. As I put Him first, then everything else falls into place. My future with Him will be glorious.

I work in an industry which encourages people to save for their retirement. Some do it better than others. Yet saving for our later in eternity we cannot do. As we seek first the kingdom of God, His presence and His people, we enter a future with Him for ever and ever, filled with all He delights to give.

We need to choose life, a life filled with Him and everything else works out. Amen!
