Welcome Them

The one who welcomes you welcomes Me, and the one who welcomes Me welcomes Him who sent Me. Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. And anyone who welcomes a righteous person because he's righteous will receive a righteous person's reward. And whoever gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple- I assure you: he will never lose his reward. Matthew 10:40-42

You never know when you are receiving a reward for something you have done. Yet give recognition, honour people for who they are, give when it is in your power to do so, smile and speak well to others.there are times I sense a God moment, He wants me to love, to share, to give, to honour.

It is important that I understand I need to honour people God is honouring. I cannot be so preoccupied with me that I miss opportunities.

This week, as last week, the front of my office has been crowded with politicians and their assistants. Some I would never vote for in a pink fit as what they represent is wrong for my state. Yet they are human beings and I must respect their creator by being civil to them, even when I go to enter my office and am accosted with their literature.

I have done more by daily giving them cold drinks when the sun forces them against our windows. It has been hot. I have watched as people treat them with disdain as they go to vote. Who would be a politician? Only the brave, committed or insane.

Christian be the emissary you have be called to be! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
