Cold Love

Because of the increase of wickedness the love of most will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

When we consider wickedness we think of the Islamic militants, the slave traders, the pedofiles. Why this is true wickedness but is there another? How does the aforementioned make the love of many grow cold? Might I suggest it doesn't, in fact it fans the flame. So then, what is this wickedness?

Is it the pornography that sneaks onto your screen? Is it the way you abuse your spouse? Is it the way you cheat on your tax? Is it the way you rage on the road? Is it the hidden lies? The cheating? Or is it pure selfishness?

Scripture tells us what the works of the flesh are told us by Paul in Galatians 5:19-21, check them out. You will notice 'outbursts of anger, hatred, envy, drunkenness, carousing, strife, factions etc are mentioned. Why we would consider these innocuous, yes? But wickedness? Wow!

We are called to be salt and light. Salt and light cannot walk in the ways of wickedness. So then, where do I walk? In the paths of righteousness. Where are they? Allow the Lord in to be Lord and you will find out! Keep Him out and you never will and you will be saltless, unsavoury and worthy of being called lukewarm. These type Jesus uses as mouthwash, He spits them out.

Come on team, we have a job to do, a harvest to bring in! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
