Compassion Again
Now Jesus summoned the disciples and said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they already stayed with Me for three days and have nothing to eat. I don't want to send them away hungry;
Otherwise they might collapse on the way." Matthew 15:30,31
This is the second time that Jesus wants to feed the crowd. The first time the disciples identified their need and wanted to send them away to find food, Jesus, instead asked them what they had and used this to feed the thousands. Again, we see the crowd staying for three days without food. I have never seen this but I am sure it happens. I am sure Reinhardt Bonke or Daniel Kolenda might see it when large crowds travel long distances to hear the gospel, but westerners struggle to go without for a meal.
Imagine someone being so engaging that you don't notice being hungry for three days?
Again Jesus' compassion is for the whole man. He had fed their spirits but knew their flesh needed food. Another miracle was coming. As before someone had a few fish and some bread.
There only need be a little for much to be created. Praise Him! Amen!
Let's have compassion on the souls needing Christ, needing food, needing someone to care. Amen!
