He's Coming!

Immediately after the tribulation of those days:

The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken.

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. Matthew 24:29-31

The disciples had asked Jesus about the end times and this was a pry of His reply.

It is interesting that He comes after some sort of tribulation and signs in the sky.

Many movies have been made about cosmic catastrophes. The book of revelation gives a lot more detail. Needless to say there is coming a major cosmic event, after a particular tribulation.

Jesus goes on to say His coming will not be expected, except by His people. As in the days of Noah people were eating and drinking and getting on with normal life.

Yet we know that when the world sees Him coming many will be in distress. Probably because they failed to acknowledge Him as Lord.jesus was teaching His disciples the importance of being ever ready. Amen!

He taught, through his parables, how easy it is to think nothing new will happen and be very surprised. I want it to be a pleasant surprise. Amen!
