Tell My brothers...

But the angel told the women, "Don't be afraid, because I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; you will see Him there. listen, I have told you."

So, departing quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to tell His disciples the news. Just then Jesus met them and said, "Good morning!" They came up, took hold of His feet, and worshipped Him. Then Jesus told them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see Me there." Matthew 28:5-10

The Angel came and did his job, to bring a message and roll back the stone, and shock the soldiers. Ha! He did this well and the women went on their way to take the message to the disciples when Jesus appears. Now, He did not need to appear as the angel had done the task, but, here was the Lord of relationship. He wanted to speak to a His friends, those who loved Him and were loved much. He couldn't wait or stick with the programme. The message He gave was more personal.

The angel said, "Tell the disciples Jesus is going ahead of you and will meet you in Galilee." Jesus said, " tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see Me there." A disciple and a brother are two separate beings. Disciples are not necessarily brothers and brothers are not necessarily disciples. Disciples do their master's bidding, follow Him and learn from him. Brothers play football together, stay at the same house, eat meals together and fight together. The intimacy level with brothers is far greater than disciples.

How cool is that! What a saviour! What a friend!
