Bring Her Home
And in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will rejoice because I know this will lead to my deliverance through your prayers and help from the Spirt of Jesus Christ. My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all boldness, Christ will be highly honoured in my body, whether by life or by death. Philippians 1:18-20
Paul is in prison and his enemies in the church are slandering him and still he rejoices, because he knows it will lead to his deliverance. What an attitude! No
Pity party here! I am so grateful to Paul for being steadfast.
He goes on to say, he hope he will have nothing to be ashamed of. I know I fall in many ways and often am ashamed of my attitude or even my behaviour.
Tonight I was talking to a dear friend who is in pain. She has spent her life pushing herself and her body is now complaining bitterly. This friend has very religious relatives and therefore has walked away from what she considers as church life. As I talked to my friend I wanted to pray for her but knew her greater pain is her family. I would love to pick her up and hold her, however I am small and she is a bigger woman. My friends needs to know Jesus and His love not religion.
For a moment I felt guilty not praying for her but have many times and it does not register. My friends needs the shackles to be dealt with, once and for all. Then I can pray for her healing.
Lord I ask for my dear friend to know your love, that beautiful non- religious, non-demanding love that woos and heals
