He is There! Right Beside!

A man's steps are established by the Lord, and He takes pleasure in his way. Though he fall he will not be overwhelmed, because the Lord holds his hand. Psalm 37:23,24

What a beautiful picture! My God establishes my steps. He designs them and I, in faith, walk them. Can you see Him out ahead designing the paths through, under, over obstacles? Can you see the shady trees, the fountains, the grassy glades, the tables at where you feast? They are there, but you must use your spirit eyes to see them.

If I look with natural eyes hating the pain, the trial, the difficult terrain, I will miss the provision, the places of rest. Difficult times are a given but our God provides for the journey. My God takes pleasure in my ways. If you have ever had little childen you will know the pleasure of just having them in your world. If you have not had children, perhaps a pet ( a once removed substitute). The child might be going through a tough time with their health, their behaviour might not be the best, but your love for them is.

Though I fall, my God is there. Falling is a given, we will trip and fall, but get up again. Because, just like little children, we want to learn to walk, to run, to climb. Throughout all this He is there holding our hand. He has not gone away, He is there!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
