He's Watiting To Show Himself Strong
The Lord watches over the blameless all their days, and their inheritance will last forever. They will not be disgraced in times of adversity; they will be satisfied in days of hunger. Psalm 37;18,19
One of the biggest challenges a Christian faces is to succumb to a bad attitude, to walk away and give up and curse the day they believed. Today I had lunch with a neighbour who had left church. I am sure there were reasons, there always are.
The enemy comes at us determined to make us give up the belief that we are actually children of God and joint heirs with Christ. He knows what awaits us, what he gave up, the delight of knowing the fullness of God, walking in sweet fellowship with Him. Satan's mantra is: 'if I can't have it, they can't and I'll taken them all to hell.'
The closer we get to our Lord the fiercer the battle because the closer we get, the more like Him we become and the more deadly to him we are, and deadly we are, because we are dead, to sin. The blood-bought, spirit filled believer will put the armies of hell to flight because just like Elisha they see the heavenly host surrounding the enemy.
I have had the best weekend. My mum went on the train south yesterday and I had head space, spirit space and natural space to seek God and what a time I had. It is so refreshing to spend time with the Lord, all alone and put music on and paint a picture. Ahhhh! I have not painted in a while. What joy!
This morning the Lord showed me the reality of the fact that we cannot build on a foundation that is ours, we must strip away all that is ours and build on Him, just Him. We cannot paste Him over our brokenness, all of the broken pieced must be gone. Nothing left of me, no hurts, no attitudes, no self-righteousness, nothing, absolutely nothing.
You cannot tell me you haven't tried to keep a little of you. We may think we have built on Christ but our building is an alloy, or an attempt at alloy. There is no room for alloy, only gold.
The Lord spoke to me and said, trying to minister out of alloy, trying to live out of alloy, trying to walk in faith out of alloy wears you out and destroys the building.
Allow God to take you deeper, right down to just Him. What a place! What a peaceful, restful place! There is no junky attitudes there. There is no hurt, no pride, no attitude. It is clean, whole, pure. Wow! What a place!
