Taking Territory

So Joshua took all this land- the hill country, all the Negev, all the lands of Goshen, the foothills, the Arabah, and the hill country of Israel with its foothills- from Mount Halak, which ascends to Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon.
At that time Joshua proceeded to exterminate the Anakim from the hill country- Hebron, Debir, Anab- all the hill country of Judah and of Israel. Joshua 11:16, 17, 21

Joshua did what God commanded him to do, take the land, rid it of all their enemies. This meant a lot of battles, he took 31 kings. In chapter 13 it says: 'Joshua was now old, getting on in years, and the Lord said to Him, "You have become old, getting on in years, but a great deal of the land remains to be possessed."

Joshua lived 110 years. In Chapter he was nearing the end of his life. Considering his battles didn't start in earnest until he was 80, I am impressed. I am now 61 and each time I take on a new battle I feel my age more. Yet Joshua didn't take the promised land until his was in his 80's. So, ' what'sa madder you, why you look so sad. Ah! Shutupya face.!' (Song) In other words, 'stop whining!'

I know I have entered a new phase with new authority, I am walking at a different level, I am much more confident and able to trust more. About time! Praise God!

Today I was interviewed by the Business Chamber seeking to discover how they could help people like me in business. The thought was that they would provide leads on-line. I laughed and said, " that is like on-line dating! It does not work, for me at least." I said provide avenues for us to meet more people. I believe in networking and making friends.

I am having the best time meeting new people. What a treat! Community is where it is at. People want to know you care and then they will listen to you. Churches can be so removed from community. Why I do not know. Jesus, the king of kings did community well, not church. He fouled all the services He went to and the people wanted to kill Him but the community loved Him and wanted to know Him. I pick community every and any time.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
