The promised Land

While the Israelites camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, they kept the Passover on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month. The day after the Passover they ate unleavened bread and roasted grain from the produce of the land. And the day after they ate from the produce of the land, the manna ceased. Since there was no more manna for the Israelites, they ate from the crops of the land of Canaan that year. Joshua 5:10-12

Divine provision ceased and now in the land of promise the land would sustain them. The current generation, the one that grew up in the wilderness was now going to eat new food, they had only ever eaten manna, and quail. Wow! Imagine living on manna all your life and suddenly experiencing all the abundance of your promised land.

When we come into Christianity we experience a new birth. All that was is gone, the new has come. The new is so much more fulfilling than the old. In the old life we get by but lack the presence of joy. In Christ we have the joy of the Lord and the presence of the Holy Spirit. Amen! How different! We now have a hope and a future.

As the Israelites had battles to fight, they also enjoy the spoils of victory. In Christ we still have battles but enjoy the fruit of the fight. Amen!
