Give the Little

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a remote place and rest for a while." For many people were coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they went away in the boat by themselves to a remote place, but many saw them leaving and recognised them. People ran there by land from all towns and arrived ahead of them.
So He stepped ashore, He saw a huge crowd and had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Then He began to teach them many things.
When it was already late, His disciples approached Him and said, "This place is a wilderness, and it is already late! Send them away, so they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages to buy themselves something to eat."
"You give them something to eat," He responded. Mark 6:30-37

The disciples were tired and hungry and Jesus takes them away to a remote place to rest. They would have had to take some food with them, if they were going to a remote place.

However, the crowd outwits them and they land only to be faced by the throng, no time to eat.
When Jesus had spent time teaching it was late in the day and the disciples are now really hungry but the crowd are still present. They could not sit down and eat in front of them.

Their suggestion seems logical, however, the compassion that led Jesus to teach a second time, was still present. These sheep, as He considered them, needed e shepherd to feed them.

Jesus now performs a miracle with the small amount that the disciples have: five loaves of bread and two fish.

We can be spent, empty of finance and provision but at times the Lord asks us to give the little we have. He then uses that little to feed many and bless us with an abundance in left-overs.

Don't limit yourself, or what you have or  God's abilty to multiply the little! Amen!
