God is My Defender

That night sleep escaped the king, so he ordered the book recording daily events to be brought and read to the king. They found the written report of how Mordecai had informed on Bigthana and Teresh, two eunuchs who guarded the king's entrance, they were planning the assassinate King Ahaserus's. The king inquired, "What honour and special recognition have been given to Mordecai for this act?"
The king's personal attendants  replied, "Nothing has been done for him."
Esther 6:1-3

God was in control then just as He is now. Evil men plot our downfall but God is planning our honour. We need not fear evil men but instead fear the Lord. He alone is God and will lift us up. Amen!

We often fail to confront or fail to speak up because of the fear of "what will others think!" We should be more worried by what out a God thinks.

This morning I was thinking that it was quiet on the debate on same-sex marriage when a gay friend posted that a certain 'Aussie Bum,' was in favour. The comments by those following were derogatory towards Christians, calling us bigots. They were denigrating the bible as well. 

I went to the Lord, I knew I must say something. What should I say. I watched Michael Pitts preach and my spirit rose up and then I knew what to say.  I said that 'no one, no pretty idol, no cleve politician, no one would determine who I was except Jesus Christ and the word of God.' I then posted it. Amazing there have not been any further comments. Now my friend may have had enough of me and de- friended me, I can understand I would be perceived as a thorn in his flesh. However, the followers needed to know I considered Jesus as Lord.

We are given opportunities to stand up and declare truth. Why not use them?

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
