The Best Time

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there. Simon and his companions went searching for Him. They found him and said, "Everyone is looking for you!" Mark 1:35-39

I wonder if this was a habit that Jesus had in place long before His coming out as the Messiah? Growing up in a large family makes space alone improbable. To seek the Father He would want space. Time with the Lord for me is something I covet and peace and quiet is best of all, with Him. The distractions of the day aren't up early, well most aren't.

When I visit my grandchildren, in summer, they are up very early, so to have my time with the Lord I have to be up earlier, before they pounce on me and want stories.

Nowadays I want to have my time with the Lord before I go out to exercise, read Facebook, Twitter or emails. I don't even let my dogs know I am up, sneaky!

I am so grateful that I now can access radio on my iPhone, that way the worship music is selected for me and I am not needing to be involved.

The time between times is the best time, it seems to be the Lords time, it is pregnant with Him. The earth is hush awaiting its master, full of fresh potential, hanging like lush grapes, waiting to be picked.

Ah to spend time and touch Him! Awesome!

Just because everybody was looking for Jesus was not a good enough reason to look for Him, the crowd wanted stuff, not relationship. Jesus went off looking for relationship. Amen! Always the best reason.
