The Giving Grace

And you Philippians know that in the early days of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.
For even in Thessalonica you sent gifts for me need several times. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the profit that is increasing to your account. But I have received everything in full, and I have an abundance. I am fully supplied...... Philippians 4:15-18

How good it is to have people who care about your needs. Now, more than ever, there are so many needs, or perhaps there always were but now they are organised in knowing to ask for help.

I find the best blessing follows when I am impressed by the Lord to give. When I look around my home and recognise all that has been given to me and I did not buy. I treasure all that I have been given because I know where it came from. I am sure Paul felt like this. Gifts given by people motivated by God are just the best.

The Philippians have a heart to give and perhaps they are the source of Paul's blessings. God tends to use only a few committed, loving people in our worlds. I never worry about all those that could but don't because I trust the Lord to use who He wants. The same way I trust Him to use me where He wants. I love it when I have a surplus and know it is earmarked. I then wait for the project.
